Colour and Texture | Felt Wall Art (Beginners +)

This workshop explores the use of silk and merino prefelts for creating design and adding texture to felt wall art. 

  In this workshop you will
  • learn wet-felting techniques
  • create silk and merino prefelt for decoration
  • experiment with colour and texture
  • apply finishing techniques to ensure quality results
  • design a fine felt wall hanging

What to bring: 
  • a couple of old towels (ie small bath towel and a hand towel)
  • bubblewrap (50cm x 3m) - you can buy this at the Post Office
  • sharp scissors
  • any interesting mohair yarns or old silk scarves you may have
  • a plastic carrier bag (for taking home felt and damp towel)
  • bar of glycerine soap (such as Pear's)
  • notepad/pen or pencil
  • packed lunch
