On Saturday, Ruth and I had a very exclusive one on one felt bag workshop. Unfortunately, not everyone who wanted to could make it along, so we had the studio to ourselves and got to work.
To describe the whole process would take almost as long as the workshop did....but here, Ruth is making sure that the inner layers of wool are wet through before she can start on the outside.
Now she can concentrate on her colour scheme...and this is just the beginning.
So now all the colours and textures have been added and the whole piece is completely wet.
From here to the next picture is a huge leap, involving rolling, cutting, a bit of pinning, lots more rolling then restringing an old necklace for the handle and creating a fabulous feature closure and then....

Ta da.....still wet so not showing all the colours in their full glory...but pretty fine nonetheless.
It was a lot of work, but most definitely worth it.
Well done Ruth!
I already have requests to run another bag workshop. If you're interested, just let me know and I'll do my best to get it organised before Christmas.
