WORDS

7/26/2016

"What I love about felt is that you can get hold of the colour. If you were painting you have to use a paintbrush or a crayon. With the fleece you actually hold the colour in your hands and mix them by piling them on top of each other. They blend together really well."
SARAH BROOKER
Picture
Sarah Brooker is the most experienced felt artist exhibiting at INSPIRED. Her CV and listings of awards, residencies and features is already five pages long. A graduate in fine art (sculpture) and textiles, Sarah has exhibited in major galleries and festivals throughout the UK since 1982. Her work can be found in permanent collections in Cambridge, Winchester and London. An art school contemporary and friend of Grayson Perry, her private commissions include wallhangings and bags. Her work for INSPIRED tells stories of love, hope and desire, of secret beaches visited, and of music overheard. And much more.
