INSPIRATIONS

My stash is like a painter’s paintbox, or the pantry of a cook –  I need to have it to hand as a project develops, so I can choose from it spontaneously, adding a dash of this or that to produce the effect I want. I use a lot of recycled silks in my work, buying up scarves and items of clothing from charity shops, to repurpose in nuno felt. Sometimes the hardest thing is using the items – taking the scissors to a particularly pretty scarf, or a length of vintage sari can feel like a big risk!
